Styles P has dropped three new songs today, one of which is titled “Ghost Sh*t.” Clocking in a paltry one minute and forty-five seconds, the short length doesn’t really effect the quality that much, with smooth, lilting guitar chords providing the accent to the beat’s retro-sounding backbone. Styles P rhymes about basically earning your keep, saying that if you’re not ready for adversity or unwilling to face the bad times, then you can’t enjoy riding around life with the top down.
Fans of D-Block know that Styles has been one of the most consistent in the game. From his excellent debut A Gangster & A Gentleman to his latest joint “Hold The Ghost,” the man known as Pinero has been keeping it gully for well over a decade. On this new track, Styles combines two of his biggest strengths – a smooth, no-nonsense flow and lyrical street wisdom. Pair that with a minimalist, soulful beat, and we’re in full on nostalgia territory.
