Ski Mask showcases his double time chops on a track from his new tape. Ski Mask The Slump God is one of a few South Florida artists making some noise this year, and his new tape YOUWILLREGRET suggests he’s here to stay. “JustLikeMyPiss” showcases the rapper’s versatility, as he delivers a goofy, animated, supremely catchy hook, only to bust into some blinding double time moments later. Though he’s become synonymous with the “SoundCloud rap” generation, Ski’s rapping here is decidedly out-of-step with the rhythms we’ve come to associate with the sound — which is not to say he can’t bust into an “aye!”-punctuated flow over a distorted instrumental when he wants to. Joining him on the track is recent XXL Freshman Madeintyo, whose energy is much different but highly complementary, as he floats over the beat with a skipping flow that that’s immediately striking and catchy.
