Veteran Nigerian rapper M.I. Abaga and the Chocolate City music imprint have slammed a lawsuit on American rap veteran Nas.
According to PulseNG a lawsuit against the Queens born rapper Nasir Jones was filed at a New York court.
IN THE LAWSUIT, WHICH WAS FILED IN THE NEW YORK STATE SUPREME COURT, NAS AND MASS APPEAL RECORDS’ RONNIE GOODMAN ARE ACCUSED OF DUPING CHOCOLATE CITY AFTER THEY HAD PAID THE RAPPER $50,000 FOR THE VERSE.
The contract between M.I. and Chocolate City for a paid verse from Nas was brokered in 2013. Part of the agreement as to the content of the verse was a good blend in of the following mentions, “M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York—NAS’s hometown—, Mandela, Trayvon Martin, and the struggles of Africans and African Americans” in Nas’ paid verse.
A verse was delivered by the revered American rapper Nas, but the mentions were missing which was contrary to the agreement.
M.I. and the Chocolate City were displeased and requested a new verse be recorded which would incorporate the highlighted subjects. Three years down the line nothing was heard from Nas nor Ronnie Goodman.
