Lloyd couldn’t conscionably return for another LP without paying respect to the folks that helped him reach these heights, some 15 years in the making. His outlined his goals for the new LP with Complex last month. “I wanted to put a lot of soul into it, you know?,” he stated in a doubtful tone. “Kind of comparing music to food, I would say the goal was to stay as far away from fast food as possible and to focus on soul food.”
