Listen to the official version of J. Cole’s “Jermaine Interlude” with Bas, Earthgang, & J.I.D.
So there appears to be a little backstory to J. Cole’s “Jermaine Interlude” record from DJ Khaled’s Major Key album. According to reports, the record originally belonged to an ATL collective called Spillage Village, which consists of JB, EarthGang, and J.I.D. The crew apparently had close ties with the Dreamville camp and ended up recording a song called “Can’t Call It” with Bas, but when J. Cole heard the instrumental he apparently loved it so much he just had to be a part of it and decided to add a verse to the Hollywood JB-produced record. Eventually, J. Cole’s solo part made the final cut of Khaled’s album as “Jermaine’s Interlude” and the song instantly became a fan favorite.

Now fast forward a few months later to today, and Spillage Village have decided to liberate the official, 6-minute version of “Can’t Call It,” which will see life on their Bears Like This To Much LP dropping December 2. Take a listen and let us know what you think.
