DJ Cassidy enlists Grace and Lil Yachty for his new disco-inspired single: “Honor.”
DJ Cassidy, Barack Obama’s favorite DJ, has put together some fascinating collabs for the few singles he’s put out, like pairing Chromeo and Wale on 2015’s “Future Is Mine.” His latest, “Honor,” features the odd couple of Grace and Lil Yachty.
The dancefloor-ready track maintains a classic disco spirit, which suits the Australian singer’s dazzling vocals as well as the romantic verse dropped off by Lil Boat, who recently finished working on his upcoming debut album, Teenage Emotions. The collab makes even more sense upon finding out that it’s part of the soundtrack for Netflix’s The Get Down Part II, which arrived on the streaming site earlier this week.
