Bankroll Mafia’s eponymous debut album just dropped, and it’s full of gems. The obvious highlight is the contrasting styles of Thug and Tip, but along with the talents of Shad da God, London Jae, and Lil Duke, there’s really no need for any guest features. The few features that do appear, though, are well-placed, such as Lil Yachty on “Hyenas,” guesting alongside the aforementioned Mafiosos save for London Jae. “Hyenas,” the title referring to the animal Thug emulates when he’s laughing in the face of haters, is one of the best tracks on Bankroll Mafia. The synth-driven beat is light and dreamy, similar to the production heard on Thug’s I’m Up, but when hard-hitting trap drums come into play, it’s enough to send a jolt up the spine. Thug’s hilarious but endearing hook is easily the most enjoyable part of the song, but make sure to stick around ’til the end to catch the crystalline vocals of Lil Boat.
