Hip-Hop’s favorite rap crooner Nate Dogg has been honored with an episode on the TV One series Unsung. Nate Dogg’s death in 2011 sent a shock wave through the hip-hop community, but his life’s work will forever be remembered.

Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Nate, born, Nathaniel Hale moved to the West Coast during his teens where he befriended Warren G, Daz and RBX. The rest, as they say, is history. He became a hip-hop household name after dropping the seminal classic “Regulate” with Warren G in 1994 and follow up work with Death Row and as a member of the group 213 with Snoop and Warren G.

He would go on to release three solo studio albums, G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1 & 2which featured the single “Never Leave Me Alone” with Snoop Dogg in 1998, Music and Me (2001) and Nate Dogg (2003). But classic hooks were his specialty – see Eminem’s “‘Till I Collapse,” Ludacris’ “Area Codes” or Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode.” He would succumb to a stroke in March 2011, but his legacy will forever live on.
