The Weeknd, Rae Sremmurd, and Kehlani also among those
On this year’s list, we have ScHoolboy Q (29), Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd (23 and 22 respectively). Fetty Wap (24), The Weeknd (25), Kehlani (20), Boi-1da (29), and Metro Boomin (22).
Of course you can only make the list once, so artists like Drake and Kendrick Lamar, while still killing it in their 20s do not appear among the 2016 class. However, Forbes did make sure to catch up with Kendrick, writing of the rapper “Compton’s latest Cash King earned $15 million over the past year, setting him on the path of mentor Dr. Dre–but the thoughtful lyrics and funky beats of new album “To Pimp A Butterfly” have earned him something priceless: a position as the conscience of hip-hop.”
