Unlike Macklemore’s previous duets with longtime collaborator Ryan Lewis, the vibe is pure Lil Boat, with Yachty’s signature autotune vocals dominating the song. Don’t let the sugary production fool you – Yachty takes aim at police and Donald Trump, masking the barbs with his childlike innocence.
Macklemore explains that the song was actually recorded during election night, which may explain some of the seemingly random political references. Still, the song is pure summer, and will no doubt be the soundtrack to many a teenager’s house party.
