Watch John Legend’s new video for “Surefire.” After taking the stage at Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards, John Legend continued to promote his Darkness & Light album by returning to the scene Monday with a new video for the track “Surefire.”
Not appearing in this one, Legend delivers a powerful & moving new visual that follows a young interracial couple around as they battle prejudices and laws that undermine their relationship. Speaking on the video, Legend says it meant to evoke feelings of love.
“Love is powerful,” he said. “Love endures. Love can overcome the divisions that fear creates. We made this film to accompany my song ‘Surefire’ and to celebrate the power of love. ‘Surefire’ is a song about eternal faith. Faith that love is the most powerful force in the universe.”
