In the months—years—that have gone since Fireboy’s electric debut, “Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps,” a whole lot has happened.
For one, the young maestro has been leveling up in the game and has gone up the ranks to become one of the most revered in the ever-growing music industry.
With a third album on the way and a hit with Ed Sheeran, there’s no telling just how much impact Fireboy could make this year. One thing’s for sure, he’s got a lot of cards. Played right, he’ll be sitting with the greats.
Adekunle Gold, on the other hand, well let’s just say he’s actually sat with the greats. Since his 2016 debut, he has not slowed down at all.
He also has an album on the way (“Catch Me If You Can”), and this year’s set to be the best year yet for him. It just might be.
Now on the subject of hits and who’s really got it, there’s no doubt in the past three years, both Adekunle and Fireboy have done well. They may not make the most hits, but they’ve got quality bangers for days.
Side by side, does the nostalgic effect help Adekunle Gold beat Fireboy, or does recency bias leave people yearning for more of Fireboy?
