Desiigner pays homage to his roots in sentimental “Hood” video.
Desiigner’s seven song (!!) project LOD arrived earlier this month, thus setting off what promises to be another “Cruel Summer.” While some were quick to lament the rapper’s stylistic shift from “Panda,” many fans were simply eager to hear the exuberant rapper once again behind the mic. Following up his recent “Tonka” video, Desiigner switches it up this time around, opting for a more grass-roots approach; broads in Atlanta be damned, it all started in the New York projects.
Throughout the hand-held clip, Desiigner navigates the hood he came up in, giving us a glimpse into the foundation of his community. Positive vibes are abundant throughout, as people of all walks of life do what they can to get by. Seeing the rapper in this regard is a welcome bout of character development, considering his occasional tendency to leap off the page. Are ya’ll still bumping LOD?
