Q & A with Alleyway Director Henry Director

How did you come up with the idea?

I was writing a short film about a man who was wrongfully convicted, and I needed a reason for his wrongful conviction.  I wanted to something different but at the same time something everyone could relate to, so I came up with the idea of being punished for trying to do the right thing.

Why did you think it was important to tell this story?

I am a filmmaker who loves telling stories and I believe any filmmaker should tell and make movies that entertain people but uphold human decency and human dignity.

When will you finish this film?

It’s a heavy responsibility, but we are constantly working on the film every single day.  It won’t be long now, as we have started the production.   The expected release time is still within 2020

Does your film have a political message?

Alleyway is an artistic film.   This film is not to make any political statement but to simply entertain people by telling a good story. The film is more about human behaviour than a commentary on government.

Do you have a distribution deal on board?

No, as an indie filmmaker it can be difficult to get a distribution deal before the movie is made, but we are getting a few distributors calling and making inquiries about the movie.   I’m open to a distribution deal that is favourable to the movie.

Why should audiences see this film?

Audiences will love Alleyway because the story is relevant to modern society, where greed sometimes overrides saving lives. The film will also remind people that we are still alive, and we should cherish every moment with our family and friends. The film will appeal to both the young and old because of the action and redemptive story.
